My LHi by Michael Georgiou

“I was one of the first employees. On my first day, I remember getting my recruitment training from Tom sitting outside with wind blowing the paper everywhere as there was no room in the office! We’ve come on quite a bit from those days!”

Interview:

What were you doing before working here?

I was studying Economics at University at Exeter. I joined here fresh out of Uni!

What market do you cover?

I am the Manager of our Data & Analytics practice in the U.S.

Best thing about your market?

The technology is really interesting and very current

Why LHi?

The culture, the people and the growth opportunity are unique to LHi.

If you weren’t in recruitment, what would you be doing?

Another Sales Job, probably for something in Finance

Favorite holiday destination?

Croatia. I was lucky enough to go there on one of our incentive trips and it was amazing.

What makes working here different?

You really feel part of something.

Which office will you make use of your LHi passport to visit when you hit the milestone?

San Francisco

What’s been your biggest achievement at LHi?

I am the youngest person to hit MC Club for billing over £1m. Now I’m in New York and fully established, I’m gunning for Top Biller 2016! Watch this space…

What has a career in recruitment given you in terms of life goals?

I was able to buy a house in London at 25 which was one of my life goals. Recruitment has given me financial stability that I don’t think I could have got from anywhere else as quickly.  I’ve also been to some of the top vacation destinations and, another life goal achieved when I was given the opportunity to move to New York. For me, choosing recruitment has made a lot of my dreams come true.

Tell us one thing you remember about your first day in the business?

I was one of the first employees in our office in Clapham. On my first day, I remember getting my recruitment training from Tom sitting outside with wind blowing the paper everywhere as there was no room in the office! We’ve come on quite a bit from those days!

If you were writing your autobiography what would you call it?

“Work to live not Live to work”

If LHi were an animal, what animal would we be and why?

Wolf (but not in a ‘Wolf of Walls Street’ way!) We like to think of all our people in the business as a wolf pack. All our brands stick together, we know we are stronger as a team.

If you could take one other person from LHi to a desert island with you who would it be and why?

Janna Connolly (Head of US Operations) she would set us up with everything we need, there would be wifi, a live stream to the New York Office, a wireless computer, a fishing boat so we could eat… she would sort it. And she’s my girlfriend so, it’s probably a wise choice!
