<h4><br><strong>Tell us, in your own words, what is the role of &lsquo;Executive Director &ndash; Future You Coach&rsquo;?</strong></h4>
<p>&ldquo;In a nutshell, any recruitment company&rsquo;s success in scaling and growing always comes back to the strength of its people. But all too often, the investment in people doesn&rsquo;t match the ambition of the business.</p>
<p>The role of Future You Coach is all about making sure we do everything we can to help the next generation of LHi leaders get a clear vision of their &ldquo;Future You&rdquo;, who and what they&rsquo;re chasing, and, most importantly, how they&rsquo;re going to get there.</p>
<p>I&rsquo;m excited to help these amazing leaders across LHi pursue the best versions of themselves and, in doing so, create a platform for real growth&rdquo;</p>
<h4>&nbsp;</h4>
<h4><strong>How do you see this role evolving, and what kind of long-term impact do you hope it creates for LHi&rsquo;s leaders?</strong></h4>
<p>&ldquo;One of the really exciting (and slightly scary) things about this role is that, for the first time in a while, I don&rsquo;t have all the answers! That said, I hope that as we see success from our first few cohorts over the next year, I&rsquo;ll have the chance to work with the next generation of leaders for years to come, and make sure that both our &lsquo;Younger You&rsquo; and &lsquo;Future You&rsquo; ethos are even stronger tomorrow than they are today.&rdquo;</p>

<h4><br><strong>After stepping down as CEO, why was this the right next step for you?</strong></h4>
<p>&ldquo;This is a role I&rsquo;ve wanted to step into for quite some time, it really reflects my own idea of &lsquo;Future You.&rsquo; I feel very fortunate to be able to fully immerse myself in helping leaders across LHi shape their own &lsquo;Future You,&rsquo; understand what it looks like, and then turn that vision into reality for themselves and their teams.&rdquo;</p>

<h4><strong>What excites you most about staying involved with LHi in this new capacity?</strong></h4>
<p>&ldquo;So much! This role really is a pinch-me moment. I&rsquo;m excited to continue my journey at what I truly believe is the best recruitment firm in the world (biased, I know!) and take on a role that I hope will both empower people to become the best version of themselves and help LHi continue to grow stronger.&rdquo;</p>

<h4><strong>How does this role align with your personal values and leadership journey?</strong></h4>
<p>&ldquo;I&rsquo;ve always believed that the essence of true leadership, and of scaling a business successfully is creating a leader who can, in turn, create another leader.</p>
<p>When this happens consistently (and ideally organically), it&rsquo;s a strong sign that both the cultural and commercial sides of your firm are firing on all cylinders, and that you&rsquo;re future-proofing your business at the same time. I&rsquo;m hopeful that, in my new role, I can help make this the norm at LHi.&rdquo;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>Looking back, is there a moment in your own leadership journey that shaped how you&rsquo;ll coach others?</strong></h4>
<p>&ldquo;One moment really sticks out for me. I was in a pretty low headspace, battling a huge dose of imposter syndrome and second-guessing a lot of the decisions I was making for LHi.</p>
<p><br>At that time, I sat down with someone who encouraged me to start thinking about the kind of person I wanted to be, the kind of CEO I wanted to be. Once I had that clear, it became so much easier to believe in what I was doing and, crucially, to start saying no to certain tasks and delegating them, so I could say yes to the things that truly moved me towards that vision.</p>
<p><br>That shift allowed the business to get stronger, as people better suited to certain tasks took them on, and I gained a clearer sense of my role and how to perform it at my best. I hope to have even a fraction of that impact on those I&rsquo;ll be working with in this new role.&rdquo;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>What&rsquo;s the one message or mindset you hope to instill in every leader you work with?</strong></h4>
<p>&ldquo;I think having clarity on the type of leader you want to be, what that looks, sounds, and feels like, and what their behaviours are is key. Once you have that nailed, be incredibly clear and purposeful on how you communicate this consistently and how you are going to step into those shoes.&rdquo;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h4><strong>What qualities do you believe will define the next generation of great LHi leaders?</strong></h4>
<p>&ldquo;Wow, this could be a very long list, but if I had to pick out the big ones, I&rsquo;d say these four stand out:</p>
<ul>
<li>Authenticity &ndash; Above all, this is key. When the pressure is on, unless you are true to yourself, your team will see it before you do.</li>
<li>Communication &ndash; Be clear on who and what your team ideals are, and communicate these as early and often as possible.</li>
<li>Empathy &ndash; Remember, the &lsquo;Younger You&rsquo; is at the core of what we do, and this job isn&rsquo;t easy.</li>
<li>Passion &ndash; I feel this is the biggest driver for becoming inspirational, you have to live and breathe it if you want others to follow in your footsteps.&rdquo;</li>

<p>Today LHi Group announced a significant leadership transition as <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/jrdenning/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Jim Denning</a> steps down from his role as CEO and, in a move rarely seen within recruitment, the Board appoints <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/mikebott/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mike Bott</a> and <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/richardsonben/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Ben Richardson</a> as co-CEOs to take the business forward.</p>
<p>Following a successful five years at the helm, Denning will be moving in to a new role within the Group as Executive Director, focused on developing the future leadership talent of the business; a move that reflects LHi&rsquo;s long-term commitment to supporting the next generation of leaders.</p>

<p>The co-CEO structure isn&rsquo;t a common move within the recruitment industry but was a decision that the Board felt was unequivocally right for LHi&rsquo;s future growth plans.</p>

<p>Speaking on the new leadership structure, Chairman, <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/jamesashned/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">James Ash</a> said &nbsp;<em>&ldquo;We know that in the right circumstances and with the right leaders, the co-CEO model works incredibly well. This model allows us to achieve so much more, to focus equally on building and innovating; to better navigate the complexities of the market and a fast-changing industry; and to more effectively operate on a global scale, from Germany to California" </em>In Ben and Mike, we have two people who are willing to be selfless, put their egos aside, and care more about the success of the business than themselves. From joining as consultants to now becoming co-CEOs, I think you&rsquo;d be hard pushed to find two people more committed to LHi and our vision.&rdquo;</p>

<p>Both Mike Bott and Ben Richardson are longstanding leaders at LHi, having both started their recruitment careers within the Group. Over the years, they&rsquo;ve held a range of senior positions and played instrumental roles in launching and scaling operations across the UK, Europe and US, including opening and leading multiple international offices.</p>

<p>Mike Bott, formerly Chief Commercial Officer, was one of LHi&rsquo;s first consultants, joining the company over 17 years ago.&nbsp;He said &nbsp;<em>&ldquo;We&rsquo;ve always been a business that bets on it&rsquo;s people. I&rsquo;ve had an incredible 17 and a half years of adventures with LHi and I&rsquo;m extremely proud to now be leading the company alongside Ben. Our partnership works because we challenge each other, have total trust in each other, complement each other, and always put what the business needs before anything else. We are ready for the next adventure and the exciting times ahead.'</em></p>
<p>Ben Richardson, formerly Chief Operating Officer, added <em>&ldquo;This is more than a title change, it&rsquo;s a continuation of a shared journey. Mike and I have grown through every level of LHi, and we&rsquo;re aligned on the vision and values that will take us into the next chapter. We're focused on building an agile, forward-thinking organisation that remains fiercely people-led.&rdquo;</em></p>

<p>The co-CEO model is becoming increasingly recognised for its effectiveness. A recent <a href="https://hbr.org/2022/07/is-it-time-to-consider-co-ceos" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Harvard Business Review </a>study of 87 companies with co-CEOs found they delivered an average annual shareholder return of 9.5%, compared to 6.9% for single-CEO firms. Nearly 60% of co-CEO-led companies outperformed their benchmarks, indicating the model&rsquo;s power to enhance value through shared leadership. Not forgetting Netflix's co-CEO model which appears to be hugely successful, and largely credited to the complementary skill sets of Ted Sarandos and Greg Peters. It&rsquo;s former CEO Reed Hastings said of Peters and Sarandos <em>&ldquo;Twice the heart, double the ability to please members and accelerate growth.&rdquo;</em></p>
<p>With Mike Bott based in the UK and Ben Richardson in the US, the duo will bring a global perspective and round-the-clock leadership coverage. Their complementary strengths, strategic commercial growth, and operational excellence create a leadership balance that reflects LHi&rsquo;s commitment to innovation, diversity of thought, and employee wellbeing.</p>
<p>Bott and Richardson are set to lead in a time when many recruitment firms are facing headwinds in the post-2022 landscape, however, LHi Group has recorded a positive year so far. On the three-year anniversary of launching its Employee Ownership Trust (EOT), LHi Group announced the successful completion of a capital raise, repaying 80% of capital owed to loan note holders well ahead of industry benchmarks - marking a significant financial and cultural milestone for the business. &nbsp;</p>
<p>With the investment in to leadership training, continued plans for international growth and a new offering from their consultancy brand XPS launched this month, LHi Group&rsquo;s 25-26 plans look to be an exciting start for the new co-CEOs. &nbsp;</p>

<p>In honour of Pride Month, we&rsquo;re spotlighting a powerful conversation we had with Lucy Morgan, CEO of Pod Talent, who was invited by our POWER group earlier this year to speak about authentic allyship and inclusion in the workplace.</p>
<p><br>With warmth and honesty, Lucy shared their personal journey of coming out and the struggles they faced as a queer person, including discrimination and rejection from people they once considered close. These experiences shaped their identity and fuelled their determination to create environments where people can show up as their true selves without fear.</p>
<p><br>A central theme throughout the conversation was the importance of intention. Whether it&rsquo;s the language we use, the stories we share, or the way we approach difficult topics, Lucy emphasised that allyship begins with genuine curiosity, care, and humility. This kind of intentionality helps build psychological safety, the foundation of any truly inclusive culture.</p>
<p><br>When it comes to handling uncomfortable or potentially discriminatory situations, Lucy advises against calling people out publicly. Instead, they suggest moving conversations offline, asking empathetic questions, and inviting open dialogue. The focus should be on calming emotions rather than escalating tensions. It&rsquo;s perfectly acceptable to not have all the answers, but it&rsquo;s crucial to listen honestly and stay open to learning.</p>
<p><br>From Lucy&rsquo;s perspective, allyship is an active practice rather than a fixed identity. It involves consistently speaking up, being mindful of language, supporting inclusive policies, and making sure others feel seen, safe, and supported, especially during challenging or uncomfortable moments.<br>Age discrimination also came up as a significant yet often overlooked bias in recruitment. Lucy highlighted the need to see candidates as individuals rather than stereotypes, advocating for people based on their skills and potential, whether they&rsquo;re older or part of Gen Z.</p>
<p><br>Closing the session, Lucy reminded us that allyship is a journey rather than a destination. Wherever you are on that path, showing up, listening, and being willing to grow can make a meaningful difference.</p>
<p><br>As Pride Month continues, Lucy&rsquo;s message reminds us that meaningful change doesn&rsquo;t happen overnight, it&rsquo;s built through everyday actions, grounded in empathy, and fuelled by the willingness to do better. Whether you're part of the LGBTQIA+ community or an ally, their words are a call to lead with intention, to listen actively, and to show up, not just in June, but always.</p>

<p>Originating from a 2018 leadership summit, the "Younger You" philosophy has guided LHi towards a 'people-first' approach, prioritising the hiring, development, and retention of 'good humans'.</p>
<p>Our leaders abide by a simple mantra: <strong>"The journey for those coming after us must be better, happier, and smoother."</strong></p>
<p>This philosophy is symbolised by our 'Younger You' white Converse trainers where each LHi&rsquo;er receives a pair when they reach a certain management level, stamped with the year they began their career&mdash;a tangible reminder to walk in the shoes of our 'Younger You'.</p>

<p>Our future you concept is based around one of the big aspects of LHi, of getting people to step outside their comfort zone and chase their dreams.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>The goal is to make those dreams a reality.&nbsp;</strong></p><p>Far often our dreams never become a reality as there is quite often a financial barrier stopping us… Mortgage payments, children to look after or student debts. But with our EOT journey we are currently on, hopefully this will help every LHi’er break through that financial barrier.&nbsp;</p><p>So, as a group, we’re all working towards making LHi being the best business it can be, a people first business, where LHi may not be the final destination for everyone but a stop along the way that helped our ‘good humans’ achieve their dreams.</p>
