How our Bristol office hit their 2025 charity target
This year, our Bristol office has only gone and hit their charity target again! Their incredible dedication is making a real difference in the community. We caught up with the Bristol team to hear all about their charity choice, creative fundraising ideas, and what made this year's efforts so impactful.
Here's what our chair of the Bristol committee, Jamie Holmes had to say:
Tell us a bit about the charity your office chose to support, why does it mean something to you?
We’ve been supporting Bristol Avon Rivers Trust (BART) this year – a charity that protects and preserves rivers local to our office in Bristol. Rivers play such and important role in our environment, as such need protecting!
What was your fundraising goal, and how did you come up with that number?
£2,000 was our target from Q2 onwards. Given our target last year was £2,000 for the whole year, we thought we would up the pressure and try to raise this in only three quarters of the year.
Why did you pick this charity for 2025? What drew you to it?
Every year, we give the office a chance to bring fresh ideas for the Charity we are going to support. We had some great ideas, and asked the office to vote on which charity resonated the most with them. BART won by a significant amount of votes.
What’s been your favourite moment or the most rewarding part of working on this charity project?
Definitely the River Restoration day! We spent a day with our Charity partner, getting stuck in, helping build brushwood berms to control the flow of the river, encouraging biodiversity and flood resilience. (You can check it out here.)
How did your team hit the target and make an impact in the community?
Consistent activities throughout the year – and a great Charity team always coming up with creative ideas to help raise money.
Did your team come up with any cool or creative fundraising ideas that you’d suggest to others?
The Bristol Race night was a big one for us. It raised over £600 towards the charity, and would be worth considering for other offices.
