Genuinely could be many things, I loved the positive outlook from the NYC team.
The LHi Passport Spotlight: Tom's adventure
At LHi Group, we’re all about embracing adventure, both at work and in life. That’s why, after five years with us, our LHi’ers earn the coveted LHi Passport, allowing them to experience a week at any of our global offices.
It’s a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in a new culture, meet colleagues from all corners of the globe, and expand your horizons.
In line with our identity statement, “We are adventurous,” this benefit is all about exploring, connecting, and stepping out of your comfort zone. In this series, we’ll hear from those who have recently used th`eir LHi Passport, sharing their experiences and the impact it’s had on them.
This time, we’re hearing from our European Head of Piper Maddox and Bristol Office Leader, Tom Clarke.
Which global office did you choose for your LHi Passport trip, and why?
New York, the founding office of Piper Maddox globally and the official home to our all-time most successful team.
How was your experience? What were your thoughts on that particular office?
What an office, with huge energy and positive purpose from everyone I met.
It's a big office in the heart of the financial district and it was nice to see some friendly faces, especially from the old timers. I can't name everyone but thanks to those that looked out for me on day one.
Outside of the Piper Maddox team our other brands are doing some really interesting things in the way they break their markets up and build business through community groups.
Could you share some details about what you did during your time there?
I had the pleasure of sitting with and meeting our NYC Piper Maddox team. It is often that emerging trends begin in the US, and come to Europe later. Being able to meet people leading US markets in frontier technology is a brilliant insight into what is coming next to this side of the pond.
I also managed to catch-up in person with Mike Georgiou, Alex Cohen and Kev Cooley, some of whom I haven't met in person since 2019.
Outside the office highlights include an Irish bar, obviously. Mrs Clarke was there at the same time and we hit Broadway, got the express 50 min tour around Ellis Island and got to catch up with friends who we haven't seen for over a decade.
What was the most memorable moment of your experience?
What’s your top tip that you would give someone preparing for their own LHi Passport adventure?
I have many top tips, with two major one's.
Come to LHi Bristol with your passport. The 2019 happiest city in the UK. We promise you a great time.
Don't leave your laptop at Heathrow airport. And if you do, it's pointless to try to keep it secret from our business services team.
Apart from that, I had some great chats with people about their markets, ways of working, things they've been working on etc. Finally... If you can time it to be during quarterly pay-day and a 35 person lunch club that also helps...
